DOMOTEX DIGITAL DAYS 2021 will not take place

The DOMOTEX Digital Days were meant to offer a unique and high-quality platform for business and networking to the flooring industry. At the beginning of the conceptual phase, a digital DOMOTEX 2021 was received with support and commitment from the exhibitors. A few weeks before the event date, however, there is both a certain “digital fatigue” and an increasing desire for face-to-face meetings in the industry.

The demand for digital formats in the industry has been met by now. Furthermore, despite the pandemic - or in parts because of it - exhibitors are reporting a healthy order book.

With the special edition DOMOTEX DIGITAL DAYS 2021, the organizers aim was to play an active role in shaping the current crisis. Currently they have to conclude that despite all the sound digital ideas and innovative approaches, the on-site experience of DOMOTEX cannot be replaced.

Taken that into consideration, they have decided to cancel DOMOTEX DIGITAL DAYS 2021 in May and are looking forward together with you to the next DOMOTEX, that will take place from 13 to 16 January 2022 as a hybrid event at the exhibition grounds in Hannover.

DOMOTEX 2026 gains momentum

DOMOTEX 2026 in Hannover is experiencing strong exhibitor demand. The expanded concept focusing on holistic interior design is receiving broad approval across the market. Companies such as Kronospan, Weitzer Parkett, Amorim, Unilin, Classen, Saint-Gobain, and many others have already confirmed their participation.

DOMOTEX maintains its leading market position

Preparations for DOMOTEX 2026 are in full swing, and the positive response to the new concept confirms the relevance of the world’s leading trade fair for carpets, flooring and interior finishing. The newly introduced participation formats, in particular, have been well received by the market. In addition, strong partners such as DECOR-UNION and MEGA have reaffirmed their cooperation with DOMOTEX.

The Carpets & Rugs Edition: Four days of efficient business

In January next year, DOMOTEX will set in motion a new two-year cycle: from 2025 onwards, the Carpets & Rugs Edition will be a central meeting place for the world of carpets at the Hannover Exhibition Grounds in all odd-numbered years. In 2026, as in all even years, DOMOTEX will once again bring together the entire international floor coverings industry under one roof.

New study shows low environmental impact by Cotton made in Africa Organic Cotton from Tanzania

Today, the Aid by Trade Foundation (AbTF) is announcing the results of a comprehensive life-cycle analysis (LCA) for cotton produced in Tanzania under the Cotton made in Africa Organic (CmiA Organic) standard. The study emphasises the small ecological footprint of CmiA Organic verified cotton. This can largely be traced back to the absence of synthetic pesticides, artificial fertilisers, and artificial irrigation. Consequently, CmiA Organic cotton can help the textile industry meet regulatory requirements as well as science-based targets. The results also show that the consequences of climate change threaten the livelihoods of these cotton farmers, even though the type of agriculture they practise barely contributes to climate change.

PERFORMANCE DAYS proves its relevance as the industry’s key meeting point

Held on March 18–19, 2026, PERFORMANCE DAYS once again confirmed its position as a leading international platform for functional textiles. A total of 3.366 trade visitors and around 560 exhibitors gathered in Munich, with the event already kicking off successfully on DAY 0, which received highly positive feedback for its interactive format. Despite challenging conditions caused by the public transport strike in Munich, the event saw strong attendance and a consistently high level of activity across both exhibition days.
