Hyosung Advanced Materials’ carpet lights up Gwangju, the City of Lights

Hyosung Advanced Materials supported the 13th Gwangju Biennale being held from April 1 to May 9 by providing carpets for exhibition halls. The carpet support by the company for the 13th Gwangju Biennale followed that for the 12th Gwangju Biennale in 2018. Hyosung’s product was installed in the Biennale’s exhibition halls and the National Gwangju Museum and modern artwork exhibitions by Korean and foreign artists.

Hyosung Advanced Materials provided 1,034 square meters (about 313 pyeong) of high-density roll carpet produced with the special processing of durable nylon. Proving its utility in the exhibition halls, which needed special floor materials due to the requirements of the exhibition space and works to facilitate video playing by minimizing noise, the carpet was well-received by artists and visitors alike.

The product donated by Hyosung is the Swan Carpet produced by Hyosung Advanced Materials’ Interior PU, which has the largest market share in Korea. It is widely used as commercial carpets in commercial facilities such as hotels, wedding halls, and office buildings and as automobile carpets.

“The carpet support by Hyosung Advanced Materials helped the Gwangju Biennale exhibit high-quality works. We are very happy to build a comfortable exhibition environment for the Gwangju Biennale visitors to immerse themselves in artworks,” a Gwangju Biennale official said.

Hyosung Advanced Materials has recently produced the carpets supplied to a wide range of vehicle models. They were recognized as the highest-quality product in the automobile carpet market, which requires sound absorption function and lightweight property. Hyosung leads the eco-friendly market by developing bio carpets using sugarcane as raw material and recycled carpet by recycling resources and supplying them to electric vehicles and hydrogen vehicles.
