Automation – a key theme for Saurer Twisting Solutions at Domotex 2020

Domotex, the world's largest trade fair for floor coverings, will take place in Hanover from 10 to 13 January 2020. Saurer Twisting Solutions is looking forward to welcoming customers and visitors at their Booth B35 in Hall 11.

Automation solutions made to measure for processing BCF yarns

At Domotex, Saurer Twisting Solutions will present customer-optimised solutions for process automation and product cost reduction. Automation of the material transport systems offers significant customer benefits. This is because these systems are individually adapted to the needs of our clients and enable an optimum material flow throughout the entire twisting mill. Whether in the form of a lifter in combination with our rail transport system FlexFlow or the automated guided vehicle PackDrive, the modern automation solutions offered by Saurer are the next step into the future.

The new generation of our carpet yarn machine, our CarpetCabler CarpetTwister 1.10, offers an optimum of possibilities for reliably and confidently mastering even the most unusual requirements of a lively market.

Central adjustments of almost all production parameters, an intuitive user interface and the newly designed take-up area significantly reduce the machine's changeover times. Modern drive technology and innovative yarn sensor technology for monitoring the yarn quality generate significant added value for our customers.

Process control with Saurer Mill Management System Senses

This digital system bundles and analyses production, quality and performance data across all divisions. Even machines from third-party manufacturers can be managed. Plan deviations, quality fluctuations or irregularities are thus detected in real time, enabling mill managers to react quickly. They can also use the sum of the data to analyse processes comprehensively in order to find opportunities for optimisation.

DOMOTEX Southeast Asia 2026 - Building the Gateway to ASEAN's fast-growing flooring market

From 11–13 November 2026, the inaugural DOMOTEX Southeast Asia will take place at BITEC (Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre) in Bangkok, Thailand. Jointly organized by GLOBUS Events Limited and Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai Ltd., with Worldex G.E.C. Co., Ltd. as the local partner, the exhibition marks the expansion of the internationally recognized DOMOTEX brand into Southeast Asia. As the newest addition to the global DOMOTEX portfolio, the exhibition has been developed specifically to serve the rapidly evolving ASEAN market, creating a dedicated business event for the flooring and interior finishing industry.

Object Carpet tests production of rPET BCF yarn on Neumag BCF line

In a joint project with Object Carpet GmbH, Denkendorf; the Institute for Textile Technology (ITA), Augsburg; and Next Generation Recyclingmaschinen GmbH (NGR), Feldkirchen, Austria, Barmag investigated the processing of recycled polyester for BCF yarn. The goal was to evaluate the fundamental suitability of 100% recycled carpet material for reuse in carpet yarn production to create a closed-loop system in carpet manufacturing. To date, commercial rPET BCF processes have been based solely on rPET from bottle pellets.
