ITMA, the world’s most established integrated textile and garment manufacturing technologies showcase is set for its 17th presentation in Milan in 2015. Space application has now opened online at www.itma.com.
Expanded product index features printing as a separate chapter, and enhancements to the fibre and yarn, and garment making chapters

Building on the success of the 16th presentation in Barcelona, ITMA 2015 is expected to span more than 200,000 square metres of exhibition space and attract over 1,400 exhibitors. This presentation marks the debut of printing as an expanded and dedicated chapter. Renewed emphasis is also being given to the fibre and yarn, and garment making chapters.
Miss Maria Avery, Secretary-General of CEMATEX, said: “Innovation has always been an integral part of ITMA’s DNA. Since its inception back in 1951 we have constantly sought to evolve the show to meet the needs of the industry’s stakeholders.

“We have reviewed the index of products and made adjustments in line with industry trends. ITMA, when it returns to Milan for its fifth time, will continue to be an all-encompassing showcase of the very latest textile and garment technology for the entire production chain, ranging from spinning, nonwovens, technical textiles, weaving, knitting and garment, right through to finishing.”

Added Ms Eileen Ng, Executive Director of MP Expositions (organiser of the show), “ITMA 2015 marks the debut of printing as an expanded and dedicated chapter. The global market for digitally printed textiles is expected to double by 2017, and this will drive the revenue of the digital textile equipment sector.

“The fibre and yarn chapter which was launched at ITMA 2011 was very well-received: 94% of the exhibitors had indicated their interest to participate again. Therefore we expect to grow this segment, with more leading industry brands coming on board after witnessing the sector’s successful debut.

This chapter now also includes a sub-chapter on recycled fibre and yarn as the textile and garment industry moves towards making a tangible commitment on sustainability.”

Sustainable innovation to drive growth for the textile and garment industry continues to be a strong focus at ITMA 2015. To support this effort, CEMATEX has launched its own ITMA Sustainability Bulletin which will be published every quarter.

Miss Avery said: “We hope that this initiative will provide decision makers of the textile and garment supply chain with topical insights into the environmental issues and solutions. As the world’s leading textile technology showcase, ITMA has taken the lead to play a positive role in helping manufacturers identify the environmental issues to which they, their customers and suppliers must respond as well as setting out the technical solutions available to them.”

Opportunities for organisations and institutes of learning to share their R&E achievements with the industry will be provided at ITMA. More emphasis will be placed on innovations that promote sustainability and the latest advancements in technical textiles in the research and education (R&E) sector. Conferences and workshops in line with the sustainability theme will be organised during the show in 2015.

ITMA 2015 will be held from 12 to 19 November 2015 at Fiera Milano Rho in Milan, Italy. For more information and updates, please visit www.itma.com.
