Applications now being accepted for Innovations@DOMOTEX 2015

The Carpet Design Awards ceremony at Domotex 2014 (c) 2014 Deutsche Messe Hannover
Once again Deutsche Messe is offering DOMOTEX exhibitors an opportunity to showcase their companies and product innovations at Innovations@DOMOTEX. Applications are now being accepted for a spot at Innovations@DOMOTEX 2015.
  • Carpet Design Awards to be staged in future under the Innovations@DOMOTEX umbrella

Eligible companies can submit their innovations from the areas of textile floor coverings incl. fibers and yarns, resilient floor coverings, parquet and laminate flooring, modern hand-made carpets and rugs and – as a new addition – applications and installation technology. In addition, the Carpet Design Awards 2015 will be staged for the first time under the umbrella of Innovations@DOMOTEX. This internationally recognized competition acknowledges high-quality, well-designed hand-made carpets and rugs.

Strong response from application and installation technology sector Innovations@DOMOTEX offers companies a unique opportunity to present their innovations to an international trade audience at the world’s leading trade fair for carpets and floor coverings. This format makes the industry’s innovative capacity tangible and provides an ideal platform for this. The advantage for exhibitors: innovations and trends are genuine audience magnets. Securing a slot at the Innovations@DOMOTEX Areas means participating companies can more easily come into contact with trade visitors from retailing/wholesaling, the skilled trades and architecture, as they initiate concrete business deals and expand their professional network.

Exhibitors will benefit from the extra attention generated by Innovations@DOMOTEX during the run-up to the show as well as during the event itself. “After the successful debut of Innovations@DOMOTEX we are expecting even more applications in 2015 than the previous year. The high level of interest among exhibitors is already apparent even at this early stage. In particular the response from the newly added product category of application and installation technology is very strong,” stated Dr. Jochen Köckler, Member of the Managing Board at Hannover-based Deutsche Messe, adding: “We look forward to a great variety of fresh ideas characterized by their outstanding creativity and design, and to all the new angles they will project.”

A jury composed of recognized floor covering experts, architects and designers will screen entries for the best ideas. The jury will again be chaired by Stefan Diez, the well-known industrial designer from Munich. The innovations selected by the jury will be presented on special areas at DOMOTEX in a compact, clearly arranged display. Applications and information on the conditions for participation are available at www.cemat.de/de/ueber-die-messe/themen-und-trends/news/neuheiten-2014 media.DOMOTEX.de.

Global networking hub for carpet avant-garde Market leaders from all floor covering sectors will be represented at DOMOTEX 2015 – the unrivaled venue for reaching a global trade audience. More than 83 percent of exhibitors and 57 percent of tradeshow attendees come from outside Germany. An impressively large number of companies have registered for DOMOTEX 2015 well in advance. Internationally known carpet designers and providers of hand-made creations like Floor to Heaven, Jan Kath, Rugstar, Makalu, Wool and Silk, Reuber Henning and Zollanvari will exhibit their best items, representing the world’s biggest collection of exclusive hand-made rugs. These individual items will create a harmonious floor ensemble and figure as a key design element at DOMOTEX.

DOMOTEX is consequently becoming progressively more interesting for exclusive providers of hand-made carpets. Chevalier, for example, is appearing for the first time as an exhibitor in this segment. This young French company produces high-end, hand-made carpets based on designs by artists and designers like Daniel Buren and Philope Cazal. The American company Tufenkian will likewise be represented as an exhibitor at the upcoming DOMOTEX, following a several-year period of absence. This company is a global marketer of high-grade knotted carpets from Nepal and Armenia. Its timeless designs are predominantly the work of famous designers like Barbara Berry, Kevin Walz and Laura Kirar.

The show will also feature lots of fresh new ideas for the contract flooring sector. Architects, interior designers and designers will all reap extra rewards from attending the show. Innovations@DOMOTEX features an extensive supporting program on floor coverings tailored to this target group, including talks by international experts, discussion rounds and guided tours led by well-known architects.

New hook-up: Carpet Design Awards and Innovations@DOMOTEX Outstanding designs will receive a special distinction at the upcoming DOMOTEX in January: the Carpet Design Awards, acknowledging high-quality, well-designed hand-made carpets. This competition is considered to be the world’s leading award for hand-made carpets and rugs. In the tenth year of its existence, the competition is being staged for the first time under the umbrella of Innovations@DOMOTEX. This new union, which will substantially enhance the status of the competition, also serves to underscore the special DOMOTEX focus on innovations and trends. DOMOTEX 2015 will open its gates from 17 to 20 January at the Hannover exhibition center. Further information on DOMOTEX is available at www.domotex.de.
