New - Baby and toddler data integrated into iSize

Size measurement of a baby (c) 2013 Human Solutions
Another first for Human Solutions and globally unique: The body dimensions of babies and toddlers are now available digitally for the apparel industry. The serial measurement survey with 2,000 test persons was conducted in France by the IFTH (Institut Francais du Textile et l'Habillement) and Human Solutions recently integrated the acquired data into iSize, the international body dimension portal.

Human Solutions adds a new “dimension” to the Portal

iSize (http://www.i-size.net) provides access to sizetables, body dimensions, socio-demographic information, population figures and market shares. Using iSize, apparel manufacturers can increase their market shares by first reviewing their ready-made tables and their sizing & fitting market potential in realtime, then interactively adjusting their sizetables for all size ranges. In line with international standards, the innovative online portal guarantees the comparability of the serial measurement data of different countries.

The portal also provides interactive practical data analysis functions for management, product development, sales and marketing. This specifically targets a major time and experience advantage in the market.

The new baby and toddler data can be used for mini-apparel, furniture and car seats — optimally improving the size & fit and the safety of children’s products. Babies up to 2 years old were measured manually in France, while a 3D bodyscanner was used for toddlers between the ages of 3 and 5.

The body measurements and sizetables from the French baby survey also provide accurate and useful info for the German market. The results show that the children have grown larger and stockier, with large differences between the smallest and the largest statures within the same age group. However, there is little difference between the various small, medium and large types of figures.
