Messe Frankfurt and Proposte: partnership for a new ‘Proposte China Pavilion’

The first off-site Proposte event will be held from the 27th to the 29th of August 2013 as part of the Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles show, one of the world's
biggest, organized by Messe Frankfurt and by the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT.

Together with Proposte, organisers of the fair of the same name in Cernobbio (Como, Italy), Messe Frankfurt is intensifying its acquisition activities aimed at attracting more top European manufactures as exhibitors at Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles.
In this connection, the managers of the two fair and exhibition companies in Cernobbio / Como and Frankfurt am Main announced that they plan to work together on a strategic basis in the future, and will cooperate for the coming Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles, which brings together international manufacturers of home and household textiles at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.

Cooperation to begin with Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Autumn Edition (27 to 29 August 2013)

“There is a growing demand for high-grade products in the Asian market. With the Proposte, we will further expand this segment at our fair in Shanghai and thus make it even more attractive for local buyers. We are convinced that all concerned will profit from this partnership and look forward to working with our Italian colleagues”, says Detlef Braun, Member of the Executive Board of Messe Frankfurt. “In this way, we will increase the global significance of the world’s second-biggest platform for home and household textiles and enrich it with outstanding presentations by leading European manufacturers.” Altogether, around 25 European manufacturers of high-quality decorative and furniture fabrics will make presentations in the new ‘Proposte China Pavilion’ at Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles at the end of August.

Mauro Cavelli, President of Proposte, said: “The time has come for Proposte to open its doors in other countries, while still staying true to its image, high-end content and selective approach. To establish ever-closer contacts with customers, the show needs to set its sights beyond Cernobbio, exporting the great textile heritage of our exhibiting industries, for whom design, culture and beauty have become musts. Having scrutinized the various opportunities, in cooperation with Messe Frankfurt we decided on China, a huge country that has seen its economy and customs evolve at an unrivalled rate“.

Successful example: cooperation with Milano Unica Messe Frankfurt announced it would be collaborating with Milano Unica, the organisers of the event of the same name in Milan at the beginning of 2012. Within the framework of this project, Milano Unica took part with its own exhibition stand called the ‘Milano Unica Pavilion’ in the ‘SalonEurope’ section of Intertextile Beijing Apparel Fabrics and Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics in 2012 und 2013.

“Thanks to this working relationship, we were able to attract renowned Italian apparel fabrics and accessories manufacturers as exhibitors at the fairs in Beijing and Shanghai. Now, with the cooperation agreed with Proposte, we aim to continue on this successful course and attract more high-grade European manufacturers to the Asian market”, explains Braun and adds: “We will follow up on the partnerships with Milano Unica and Proposte with more strategic projects aimed at increasing the marketing opportunities for European exhibitors at Messe Frankfurt events.”
