Huntsman and DuPont Textile Alliance Launch New PHOBOL® CP Products for Dual Action Stain Management on Apparel

Singapore – Huntsman Textile Effects, a division of Huntsman Corporation (NYSE: HUN) and a leading global provider of high quality dyes and chemicals to the textile and related industries, today launched PHOBOL® CP-DP and PHOBOL® CP-DL fluoropolymers. This new dual action system is the latest innovation from the Huntsman and DuPont Textile Alliance to further industry-leading initiatives to transition to short-chain chemistry.

The Huntsman and DuPont Textile Alliance was the first to launch the Dual Action (repel and release) system and continues its industry-setting standards with this unique system that combines both oil and water-repellency with stain release properties to bring the best of both effects into one fabric finish.

The new finish has a stain repelling agent that acts as an invisible barrier so liquid spills bead up and roll off the fabric. It also has a release technology that prevents fibers from holding stains and soils so they wash away easily during laundering. Dual action effects are desired by consumers for functional and aesthetic benefits. This new finish delivers both.

Regarding sustainability, the new PHOBOL® CP range is based on DuPont™ Capstone® short-chain chemistry which meets the goals of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency 2010/15 Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) Stewardship Program. They are compliant with the EU Directive 2006/122 for Perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS), relating to restrictions on the marketing and use of PFOS. Additionally, the product range is compliant with OEKO-TEX® 100, meets the requirements of various brand/retail Restricted Substance Lists and meets the commitments of the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) joint roadmap.

Grasim Industries announces fresh investment of ₹3094 Crore to expand Lyocell capacity

Grasim Industries Limited, the flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group and a global leader in cellulosic fibres, today announced an investment of ₹3,094 crore, for Phase II Lyocell capacity of 110K TPA at Harihar, Karnataka.
