Stork Prints participated this year at the ITMA Asia with the focus on three main items: Digital Textile Printing, the new RandomScreen® and the direct laser exposing machine SmartLEX.

Stork Prints was very happy to see that an increasing amount of visitors from all South-East Asia countries had found their way to Shanghai in China. Many visitors from countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam visited the show and the Stork Prints stand. They all showed great interest in what the company had to offer.

On the digital side the company recorded a lot of interest from all countries for their digital textile printer Sphene and our digital inks. They sold the digital textile printer Sphene to a customer in Thailand, and they gathered a handshake-deal for another Sphene from an Indian customer. Storck Prints expects to close more deals in the coming weeks after the show, based on the contacts and discussions they made on the ITMA Asia.

At the booth there was also a lot of interest for the new RandomScreen®, especially from their loyal customers. The technology of the new RandomScreen® is characterized by a random distribution of conical holes. This significantly reduces the so-called Moiré effects whilst printing, which means less need for trials and fewer remakes and rejects. Moreover, due to the conical hole shape the RandomScreens effect to a much better evenness/coverage in case of printing blot. RandomScreen is a breakthrough in terms of price/performance, it is said to change the textile rotary screen printing industry!

On the engraving side many visitors showed their interest in the new direct laser-exposing system SmartLEX. Storck Prints expects to close an order with a customer in Pakistan. Furthermore they are in the final steps of the sales process for several SmartLEX systems for customers from Bangladesh. The machine installed at the exhibition will be sold in China, where they have also several promising prospects.

During ITMA show the joint venture between Stork Prints and Shandong Tongda Nickel Screens was announced. The joint venture involves the manufacturing and distribution of first-class rotary nickel screens and consolidates a strong position in the growing textile rotary screen printing market in China for both companies. In the new partnership, named Shandong Tongda Printing Systems, Tongda’s current organization and operation will form the backbone of the joint venture. To cater to the increasing demand from Chinese customers for fail safe and higher mesh count nickel screens, Stork Prints will support Tongda with the upgrade of its technology and facilities, and act as a sales and service hub for the joint venture out of Wuxi. Mr. Dick Joustra, CEO of Stork Prints states: “Throughout the textile industry, the performance of our rotary screens enables textile printers to improve their quality. The collaboration with Tongda is a key step for achieving our plans in China and other developing markets in Asia.”
