Texprocess Innovation Award for seven high-tech systems

Special exhibition of award-winning products throughout the fair A shirt-ironing machine that measures the residual moisture and switches off automatically, a simplified process for making seamless textiles, a new technology for hot-air welding and other clever inventions have been selected for the 2nd Texprocess Innovation Award.
The jury of experts gave the coveted award seven times for outstanding engineering achievements and product developments by exhibitors of the leading international trade fair. Altogether, 18 companies entered 30 products for the Texprocess Innovation Award, which went to the following innovations and companies:
  • Bonding Machine (BM-1000) by Brother Internationale Industriemaschinen GmbH
  • Coats Colour Express by Coats GmbH
  • Dürkopp Adler AG (*1)
  • C-tex colour by Nixtex Ltd.
  • Innovative operating concept for industrial sewing and welding machines by Pfaff Industriesysteme und Maschinen GmbH
  • Shirt Ironing Machine with automatic moisture control by Veit GmbH
  • VETRON 5374 Hot Air Welding by Xi’an Typical Europe GmbH

The criteria for selection were that the innovations should not have been on the market for longer than two years and that they represent genuine added value for users by improving processing, simplifying handling and reducing materials used and costs. Account was also taken of aspects such as sustainability and energy efficiency. The members of the international jury of experts were:
  • Robin Anson, Editorial Director Textiles Intelligence,
  • Professor Hartmut Rödel, Dresden Technical University
  • Jürgen Brecht, Head of Technical Development & Production Management Clothing, Marc Cain
  • Jeremy Long, Head of Development Apparel/Global Operations, Adidas Group.

The award-winning innovations can be seen during Texprocess at an exhibition in the foyer of Halls 5.1 / 6.1. The official presentation ceremony will take place in the Congress Centre Messe Frankfurt at 18.30 hrs on 10 June. Texprocess is the leading international trade fair for processing textiles and flexible materials. Over 300 manufacturers present their cutting-edge technologies there.

The convergence of research, industry and application proved to be a breeding ground for new material solutions, manufacturing and processing technologies. Natural fibres, performance apparel, connected systems and AI-driven processing technologies emerged as key growth and future markets.

Grasim Industries announces fresh investment of ₹3094 Crore to expand Lyocell capacity

Grasim Industries Limited, the flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group and a global leader in cellulosic fibres, today announced an investment of ₹3,094 crore, for Phase II Lyocell capacity of 110K TPA at Harihar, Karnataka. This expansion will consist of 2 lines of 55K TPA (150 Tons per day) each. The first line is expected to be commissioned by 2028, and the second line is expected to be commissioned by 2030.
