Mahlo at ITMA ASIA 2012

The new ORTHOPAC XRVMC-12 offers an unique combination of simultaneous adjustment and control.
“Saving Costs – Conserving Resources” is the motto of Mahlo GmbH & Co. KG at the ITMA ASIA + CITME 2012 in Shanghai from 12 – 16 June 2012. In Hall E1, Booth B12 the company presents innovations from measuring and control technology for the worldwide textile industry as well as for the coating, plastics and paper sector.

+ Saving Costs – Conserving Resources: Sustainability in the Textile Industry

Mahlo demonstrates how energy efficiency can be optimised in industrial corporations and the ecological balance improved on a sustainable basis. This saves resources and thus in particular: money. Each company has some hidden savings potential to a greater or lesser degree waiting to be tapped. The ROI can be significantly increased with already comparatively little means. The simultaneous optimisation of product and process quality represents welcome and revenue-enhancing additional benefits. Uncommon task assignments and engineering approaches of the Mahlo R&D team have created innovative solutions. The results demonstrated at the trade fair will convince you.

Of course, cost reduction and optimisation potentials through process control system constitute a major focus. Mahlo is presenting the new ATMOSET SMT-12, a dynamic cylinder dryer control system, which already experiences a major demand because of its high savings potential. Up to 15% of energy can be saved through product-specific dryer control. Sums in the 5 to 6 digit range can be saved through the reduced energy consumption in the energy-intensive drying process. Sustained savings can also be realised with the enhanced modules and sensors of the OPTIPAC VMC-12 process control. The ECOMAT AML module minimises energy consumption up to 16% alone through optimised exhaust air control. The dwell and heatsetting time can be optimised fully automatically with the PERMASET VMT module. This means optimal utilisation of the stenter capacity at a lower energy requirement per metre of product produced.

Amongst others, a demonstration system with circulating product web will be presented. Here you can view the new straightening concept ORTHOPAC XRVMC-12 at its best. As the first and only straightening system it offers the advantageous combination of simultaneous feedforward and feedback control of the straightening process.

The multiple straightening units, selectable independently from each other, guarantee optimal monitoring with even faster and more precise straightening results. “Right first time production” thus comes within close reach and contributes to lowered costs. On the reverse side of the demo model you will find the ORTHOPAC RVMC-12, the classic model of the straightening- and process control system.

For the coating and converting sector Mahlo presents the modular and traversing process control system QUALISCAN QMS-12. It measures and controls various parameters over the entire fabric width:

  • Basis weight: beta radiation, X-ray and infrared sensors
  • Humidity: infrared and microwave sensors
  • Material thickness: single and double-sided laser systems

The QUALISCAN QMS-12 is customized to the needs of various coating applications. The modular design offers interesting options for expansion. On display is the measuring frame WEBPRO M, which can be equipped with up to 3 sensors. Models of the defect detection system WEBSCAN WIS-12 and the pattern detection and design-repeat control PATCONTROL PCS-12 complement the programme. The Mahlo Team expects its guests and friends of the company at the cosy bistro area.

Smart Quality Control for Technical Textiles

In the end, what matters is the result: a filter that performs reliably, a membrane that remains stable in storm conditions, a composite material with precisely defined properties. But the path to achieving this is demanding. In the production of technical textiles, numerous parameters interact – and even the smallest deviations can have major consequences.

New Gravimax MMX-R X-ray sensor platform opens up new application fields

The demands placed on quality control in web-based production processes are increasing: materials are becoming more complex, basis weights are varying more widely, and at the same time, pressure is growing to make processes more efficient and transparent. Precise measurement data across the entire web width has therefore become a key factor in ensuring stable production processes. With its new Gravimax MMX-R sensor platform, Mahlo introduces a radiometric measurement solution designed to set new standards in determining basis weight and material composition. The platform combines advanced X-ray technology with newly developed signal processing, enabling measurement tasks that previously often required multiple sensor technologies.
