RadiciGroup at Domotex

Pic1: Radifloor® (c) 2012 Radici Group
During Domotex 2012, the world's leading trade fair for floor coverings, RadiciGroup is showcasing all its new yarn and staple fibre products for the contract and residential markets. The spotlight is on: Radifloor® PA6 and PA66 BCF yarns, particularly the nylon 66 1000- and 1300-dtex lines.During 2011, these articles were substantially redesigned and redeveloped, thanks to sizeable investments at the Italian Radici Fil SpA production site in Casnigo (BG).

And on Radigreen® polyamide and polyolefin artificial grass yarn, specifically MY Radigreen® - an exclusive line of all-in-one combinations of straight and textured monofilament specifically developed for residential and commercial synthetic turf -, the new and exclusive Radigreen® MFL PE polyethylene monofilament shapes and Radigreen® MFL PA, a line of nylon monofilaments available in textured and straight versions. dorix® and Radilon® staple fibre. RadiciGroup has enhanced its traditional product range with new solution-dyed colours and a wider selection of counts in order to offer its customers the highest quality and greater customization.

Radifloor®

Developed according to customer specifications, the Radifloor® Polyamide 6 and 66 BCF yarn portfolio is the result of RadiciGroup's long tradition and proven experience in the textile flooring market. The hightenacity wear-resistant yarns are available in a wide variety of colours, lustres, counts and degrees of fineness. As at last year's show, during Domotex 2012 RadiciGroup is featuring Radifloor® nylon 66 yarn, particularly the 1000- and 1300-dtex lines. These are the products that were largely redesigned during 2011 following a EUR 10-million investment at the Radici Fil production site. This sizeable investment went towards the installation and start-up of new spinning lines for the manufacture of solution-dyed nylon 6 and 66 BCF yarn and a new air-entangling department. The additional facilities have allowed RadiciGroup to expand its Radifloor® range considerably and strengthen its ability to deliver the high quality demanded by the major carpet manufacturers in the contract and residential segments. "The 2012 PA6 and PA66 Radifloor® Contract yarn range has been substantially revisited and redesigned," Arturo Andreoni, marketing manager of RadiciGroup Radifloor®, said, "especially the PA66 1000- and 1300-dtex lines, which are both available in three dye affinities – regular, deep and basic – and with anti-static properties. Our re-design efforts were directed at developing and manufacturing new shapes and new dpfs, so as to be in a position to offer our customers high-performance yarns that can be used for the manufacture of carpet and tiles in conformity with EN 1307, class 33, for heavy-duty uses in the contract sector. What we are talking about here are heavy traffic flooring applications such as airports, offices and hotels that require high performance in terms of wear and tear, on top of resilience. With the start-up of the new air-entangling system, we were able to round out our BCF Contract yarn offering. The extreme flexibility of this technology, which uses compressed air to interlace individual yarns into a single yarn, affords a greater degree of product customization. We can manufacture yarn that perfectly combines technical performance with looks, achieving effects that are highly appreciated by the target market, for which customization – together with quality – is increasingly becoming a requirement of central importance."

The Radifloor® Contract PA66 1000-dtex product line includes:

+ PA66 1000-dtex, 25-dpf yarn: developed for heavy-duty applications in the contract sector, such as heavy traffic carpeting. This yarn is suitable for weaving cut-pile velour carpet on 1/10”- and 5/64”- gauge looms. + PA66 1000-dtex, 20- and 20.8-dpf yarn: suitable for Saxony jet printing and Saxony uni-dyed applications. The Radifloor® Contract PA66 1300-dtex product line includes: + PA66 1300-dtex, 27-dpf yarn: suitable for the manufacture of loop-pile carpets. For contract applications Radici Fil also offers a 1350-dtex, 18.5-dpf yarn line – a good compromise between softness and performance –, which is needed for those applications requiring good resistance to wear and tear, as well as good resilience. Lastly, for applications with specifications similar to those of the contract sector, the range includes PA66 700-dtex yarn, suitable for air-entangling, and PA66 1400-dtex, 256-filament yarn, ideal for loop-pile construction with a very soft hand.

Radigreen®

RadiciGroup is back at Domotex with Radigreen®, its range of polyamide and polyolefin artificial grass yarn for sport and landscaping turf, as well as decorative uses. The focus is on MY Radigreen® – an exclusive line of all-in-one combinations of straight and textured monofilament specifically developed for residential and commercial synthetic turf –, the new and exclusive Radigreen® MFL PE polyethylene monofilament shapes, and Radigreen® MFL PA, a line of a polyamide monofilaments available in textured and straight versions.

My Radigreen®

A line of exclusive products developed specifically for residential, domestic and commercial synthetic turf, MY Radigreen® gives turf makers maximum colour and production flexibility. MY is an acronym standing for Multi-Yarn,multiple monofilaments combined on a single bobbin. With this all-in-one combination of straight and textured monofilament, customers have all the yarns needed for the finished product on just one bobbin: soft straight monofilament yarn in colour combinations to meet any brand-specific tastes, together with textured monofilament featuring different degrees of texturing. Among the products available today are:

+ Straight PE monofilament + textured PP monofilament + Straight PE monofilament + textured PE monofilament + Straight PE monofilament + textured PA monofilament

MY RADIGREEN® is the ideal solution for anyone who needs long-lasting synthetic turf with unmatched aesthetic appeal. Radigreen® MFL PE and its exclusive shapes

...ALBATROS, LOB, MAJOR, PAT and S-CORE are the new exclusive Radigreen® MFL PE polyethylene monofilament shapes. Designed and developed to meet specific performance and application needs, the new Radigreen® MFL PE shapes ensure excellent weavability, easy installation, superior wear resistance and great resilience over time.

What is the common denominator of this high performance monofilament line? The top-grade raw materials, which are selected and tested in accredited/certified laboratories. These yarns are as soft and pleasant to the touch as natural grass. Soft, yet resistant, they minimize the risk of skin abrasion, while ensuring excellent resilience. Furthermore, these monofilaments are certified leadand phthalate-free (CPSC-CH-1002-08 US Consumer Product Safety Commission, total lead, and EN 14372 Plasticized Materials, determination of plasticizers [phthalates]).

Radigreen® MFL PA

Polyamide monofilament is the most recent addition to the RadiciGroup artificial grass yarn portfolio. Radigreen® MFL PA is a line of eco-sustainable products (the polymer raw material is produced using RECS certified renewable energy supplied by partner Geogreen) developed through the combined know-how of the Tessiture Pietro Radici R&D team and RadiciGroup as a whole, one of the world’s leading nylon manufacturers. The main applications are sports fields, landscaping and decorative uses. There are two main types of Radigreen® MFL PA: + Textured Very thin textured monofilament woven with a tight weft to make hard resistant turf used mostly for golf courses and other sports that require a compact, high performance surface. + Straight Straight (non-textured) monofilament that combines softness and resistance. This product is mainly used for applications in the landscaping sector.

RadiciGroup polyamide 6 staple fibre returns once again to Domotex. Now featuring an even broader choice of colours and items, this product portfolio is ideal for contract textile floor covering applications. One year after the acquisition of the German firm dorix GmbH – European leader in the manufacture of PA6 staple fibre –, RadiciGroup has enhanced its traditional product range with new solution-dyed colours and a wider selection of counts. The dorix takeover has enabled RadiciGroup to strengthen its presence in the carpeting field and offer the best quality together with greater product customization. The Group has long been engaged in the production of Radilon® raw and solution-dyed PA6 staple fibre at its Italian site Radici Yarn SpA. And now, since the Italian and Germanproduction facilities compliment one another, the Group can provide a greater variety of counts and even more production flexibility. Moreover, dorix GmbH’s proven experience in custom colour formulation allows the Group to meet any special requirements of its customers. Custom colours to meet any need, and more.

"Our staple fibre guarantees quality and sustainability," said Filippo Bona of Radici Yarn R&D. "Sustainability is what Radici Yarn has been investing in heavily. We offer our customers products that not only ensure excellent technical performance but also respect and safeguard the environment. And this is one of our primary objectives. During 2011, we focused on expanding our colour chart and developing new solutiondyed counts, while strengthening the collaboration with our customer partners downstream. We intend to continue to assist our customers in tackling the challenge faced by today’s businesses: developing new products with a reduced environmental impact. In our stand at Domotex 2012 we have the pleasure of displaying, a new polyamide flooring, VISION Color, created by Findeisen GmbH, a major German manufacturer of needled carpets and a long-time partner of dorix, and now RadiciGroup."
