The 26-year old compares real and virtual try-ons for size & fit – and her work has shown that long-term savings can be made with virtual fashion manikins. Commenting on the award, she said, “I can hardly believe they selected me, but I really enjoyed my work and that probably contributed a lot to this success. I’m convinced that 3D CAD is the technology of the future.” For her comparisons, Ms. Nussmann chose basic blouse and pants patterns which she designed using dimensions from the new SizeGERMANY sizetable. Simulations were carried out with the 3D CAD program Vidya. While working for her master’s degree, Ms. Nussmann is employed in the Sizing & Fitting Division of the Human Solutions Group.
