Already for the 6th time, Lindauer DORNIER GmbH is present at the exhibition Inlegmash in Moscow. Visitors will receive comprehensive information about the DORNIER system family at Textima’s and DORNIER’s joint stand FE 105 in the hall “Forum”.

Weaving machine types

The DORNIER system family consisting of rapier and air-jet weaving machines stands out due to high productivity and at the same time high flexibility. The rapier weaving machine with its patented weft insertion system, the positive controlled weft transfer in the middle of the fabric, allows the production of finest silk yarns up to coarse yarn counts, for example glass roving or carbon for industrial fabrics. The air-jet weaving machine is suitable for the production of very dense fabrics, single or double width, as well as for Jacquard weavers with their high-quality, fashionable products. An insertion rate of more than 2500 m/min has been achieved with air-jet weaving machine nominal widths of up to 540 cm.

Important examples for applications

Especially for the Russian market, the DORNIER machine portfolio offers a suitable version for all requirements. The DORNIER weaving machine is the perfect tool for the fast expanding industrial and construction sector. Important products are for example very dense cotton fabrics for conveyer belts, working garment or canvas as well as glass or aramide open mesh products for reinforcement fabrics which are used for the construction industry.

Also technical fabrics for one of the most important means of transport, the lorry: from the highly efficient tire cord weaving machine and accurate machines for airbag fabrics to the stable weaving machine with high reed beat-up forces necessary for lorry tarpaulins – all of them well-proven end products of the DORNIER system family.

The stand visitors will also find the suitable machine for the production of home textiles and garment: important Russian terry weavers already chose the DORNIER air-jet weaving machine. Thanks to the reliable weft insertion system, all kinds of colorfully patterned Jacquard fabrics for tapestry, upholstery or decorative fabrics of best quality can be produced on DORNIER rapier weaving machines. The developed DORNIER Open Reed Weave (ORW) technology allows vide diversity in patterns for clothing and decorative fabrics or also a systematic use of partial reinforcements in technical textiles. DORNIER was awarded the Techtextil Innovation Prize 2011 for this special stitching unit in both ranges of application.

From carbon to canvas: DORNIER presents flexible and reliable weaving technologies for 3D weaving and dynamic markets at Techtextil

At Techtextil from 21 to 24 April 2026 in Frankfurt am Main (Hall 12.0, Stand D95), Lindauer DORNIER will be showcasing reliable and flexible weaving technologies for ever-changing market requirements. The machine and plant manufacturer will present retrofits for existing machines, the new TRITOS® FLEX 3D weaving technology, intuitive automation concepts and software solutions for data-sovereign networking of the weaving machine fleet.

DORNIER celebrates its anniversary at ITMA Asia + CITME

To mark its 75th anniversary, machine and plant manufacturer Lindauer DORNIER will be presenting the latest developments in its rapier and air-jet weaving machines at ITMA Asia + CITME in Singapore (Hall 2, Stand B401) from 28 to 31 October 2025. The focus will be on energy-efficient weaving technologies, new IoT solutions for networked textile production and systems for the series production of modern fibre composite components.

From the Venus flytrap to foldable aircraft wings: Peter Dornier Foundation Prize 2025 honours bionic research on 3D weaving technology

Long wings with foldable tips have the potential to reduce aircraft fuel consumption and make aviation more sustainable. An interdisciplinary research team has now developed a new solution based on the Venus flytrap: Freely movable wingtips made of fibre composites which are produced using innovative 3D weaving technology. For this pioneering combination of textile technology, aviation and bionics, researchers Patrick Meyer (TU Braunschweig) and Michael Vorhof (TU Dresden) were awarded the Peter Dornier Foundation Prize 2025 in mid-July.

Grasim Industries announces fresh investment of ₹3094 Crore to expand Lyocell capacity

Grasim Industries Limited, the flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group and a global leader in cellulosic fibres, today announced an investment of ₹3,094 crore, for Phase II Lyocell capacity of 110K TPA at Harihar, Karnataka. This expansion will consist of 2 lines of 55K TPA (150 Tons per day) each. The first line is expected to be commissioned by 2028, and the second line is expected to be commissioned by 2030.
