The new CEO of ITEMA Group, Mr. Carlo Rogora, gives a company outlook to 2012

The new ITEMA CEO Mr. Carlo Rogora. (c) 2011 ITEMA Spa
Mr. Rogora speaks about the exciting last year, the strategy of the newly formed group, his own carreer and his goals keeping ITEMA weaving in a top market position.

Mr. Rogora:

"2011 marks the close of a very exciting year! The newly formed “ITEMA SpA” represents the strategic consolidation & realignment of all weaving operations. With our Industrial Companies (ITEMA Italy, ITEMA Switzerland & ITEMA Weaving China) and the Commercial & Service Affiliates (ITEMA USA, ASIA, India & Japan) now under the same Mother Company – ITEMA SpA, we look forward to the coming year.

ITEMA SpA symbolizes the perfect conclusion of our efforts to position the company for the future. Our company emerges stable, stronger and more profitable than ever before with some € 250M in turnover, EBITDA > 10% and negligible long and short term debt. And last but not least… a company with over 200,000 machines installed worldwide!

It’s important to note ITEMA continues to offer the most diverse portfolio of weaving solutions in Rapier, Air-Jet (Air Jet) & Projectile Technology; complete with a full array of accessories, all driven by the revered brands of Sultex, Somet & Vamatex.

Notwithstanding this, the return on ITEMA’s two-year investment in research & development is assured with ITMA – Barcelona being the showplace for the debut of our new Sultex A9500 Air Jet and Vamatex Silver 501 Rapier Weaving Machines. With significant activity & interest, post ITMA – we are certain – we’re on the right track with ITEMA Products being the benchmark for years to come.

Certainly, in this environment, I am honored to join the ITEMA Group and have the opportunity to lead the organization to new heights and to even greater success. I have spent the vast majority of my professional life (not short, unfortunately) in both multinational groups (IBM, Pirelli etc.) and in “family owned” enterprises. Through a very diverse career, I am well-adept in dealing with challenge & change to include the growing complexities of the global macroeconomic era we live in today.

At ITEMA, we will seek to see beyond today to prepare our products for the markets of tomorrow.

As such, we can be certain the market and our industry will continue to change at a rapid rate. Nevertheless, I personally believe that a company with unwavering focus and total commitment with State of the Art Technology, extensive and proprietary know-how and an experienced staff will rise above to capitalize even in the most adverse economic conditions. Therefore, with great enthusiasm, I joined ITEMA with trust for its history and commitment to the perspectives stressed within this message.

Our company mission is clear and will resonate in every aspect of the organization.

  • To be an industry leader and the solution for our customer’s needs.
  • To develop & manufacture machines with innovative, State of the Art Technology.
  • To demonstrate superior, unsurpassed Technical Support of our products.
  • To provide quick & comprehensive service after the sale (spare parts, accessories etc.)

We also intend to keep you informed of our goals, latest developments and progress by means of our Weaver’s E-Digest Information Channel. While I encourage you to stay abreast of our activities through the Weaver’s E-Digest, I also encourage you to participate by letting us know your comments, concerns and needs for the future.

In short, we have a simple mission with simple objectives with all resources committed to get there. This is best personified in our new motto “Weaving in Motion”, now an integral part of our company logo.

In closing, I appreciate your business and look forward to the possibility to meet you personally in the near future. Please accept my best wishes for a successful 2012 and a serene business climate conducive to our mutual success."
